Song Lyrics

You might wonder why the Song Lyrics are here in the services section of the web site.   Well, frankly, reading the lyrics can tell you more about the ministry and message than anything we create for the site.

As you might imagine, there are stories, people, feelings behind many of these songs.   While the lyrics are reproduced here, it is in performance that Shawn connects the songs with their stories, enriching both.

Out Of Control

CAN’T YOU SEE?

From the road to Emmaus to the hearts in this room
The Spirit’s flame has flickered, burned, and even consumed
It’s pretty hard to deny, the fire inside
The power of the Lord can make a grown man cry
But it’s not the emotion thatsa bringin’ them here
The fruit of the Spirit is abundant and clear
We’re all broken and torn, but by the Blood; restored
We’re saved by grace through faith not works
But they look at me with piety
I beg and plead, "Can’t you see my heart is on fire?"
How can God be pleased with all these brazen young souls
Screamin’ like animals and wearin’ funny clothes
The means come and go, but the Word’ll withhold
The Spirit’s here for everyone who claims He’s Lord
But they look at me with piety
I beg and plead, "Can’t you see our hearts are on fire?"

TRY

How can I believe in something that I cannot see or prove
And just throw my disbelief because my parents said it’s true?
How can I believe in a loving God when he allows so much suffering
And all these so-called believers are causing so much pain?
Why should I believe God hears my prayers when I hear nothing back
And if I sense anything at all, if feels more like a slap?
How can I justify a Savior’s birth in a manger only 3 could find
Only to be murdered by the one’s He loved just to save their souls and mine?
Well, I say, "Try"

How can I really love my neighbor when I don’t even love myself?
And truly live a Godly life when I need so much help?
How am I supposed to walk the walk when I don’t even know the talk?
I can’t even say the Lord’s Prayer by heart, what if I get caught?
How can I preach the Word of God when I’m so young and I speak in a drone
And be a member of the Body of Christ, when I feel like a little toe?
How can I call myself a believer with all these doubts inside?
How can I be a sheep in the flock when my fleece is far from white?

How can I attend a church with all those phony Pharisees?
Seems like they all took the Hypocritic Oath, as seen on TV
Why should I forgive them, when they don’t forgive me?
I hear them talkin’ behind my back pretending I don’t see
How can I believe in the Bread & Wine, in the Water and the Word?
I don’t even know what all that means and there are times it feels a bit absurd
How can I trust all this you say, what if it’s one big lie?
How could I explain it if it were the Truth, to a cynical humankind?
Try

RUNAWAY

You shiver in the sight
Of all those sinful nights
Memories haunt
Unworthy of His plight
And you runaway
Once upon a time
I held you oh so tight
Now I’m falling
Falling for the Lie
And I runaway
Our Father’s unlike us
His love sealed on the Cross
Hear Him calling
I still claim you as My child
He’ll never runaway

FLY AWAY

The song first entered at night, a vision not of my sight
But a whisper of a promise deep in my heart
I His voice, and He my song
Donning feathers of lyrical verse and prose
With a message of love, and heart of the Dove He called:
He calls:
Fly away with my Song
The dream of my childhood became toil, doubt, and sheer
Lessons of pain, I built up a nest of fear
Thirsty for the Promise, impatient for the Bread
The desert's lonely winter wind howls, and pounds
Now I'm ready for flight, still fear lingers in the night
"Do not be afraid, this promise I've made", my child
With longing and desire, I’m but one voice in the choir
A bird on a wire, a songsmith for hire,
From the harp & the lyre to this 6 string guitar
So I sing out the song of the Lamb
And of Moses and the Promised Land
Now the message is clear,
"By faith you've been healed,
As the Father sent me, so I send you"

I WILL STAND

I will stand on faith
I will stand on Truth
I will stand for Love for my God
And I won’t stand for hate
And I won’t stand for rage
But I will stand for Love, for my God
I will stand my ground until I see His Holy Crown
And only then bow down
I may stumble, I may fall
But by His grace I will stand tall
I will stand on faith
Won’t stand for hate
But I will stand for love
I will stand my ground
‘Til I see His Holy Crown
Only then bow down

NOT BY ME

It's not by me
It's not by you
It's not by anything we say or what we do
It's not by me, and it's not by you
But by a Greater Love that's True
I know these are the days
That they will speak of as the age
Of innocence lost to our convenience
The cost of which has been paid in advance
Because it's not by me
It's not by you
It's not by anything we say or what we do
It's not by me, and it's not by you
But by a Greater Love that's True
There are moments that I feel
The very burden of the seal:
Of that cross of Christ hanging on the righteous
There are times that gold blinds me from His plight
But then I see that it's not by me
It's not by you
It's not by anything we say or what we do
It's not by me, and it's not by you
But by a Greater Love that's True
I cannot tell you how
It truly humbles me to know
That the Love of God
Does not depend on us
Because it's not by me
It's not by you
It's not by anything we say or what we do
It's not by me, and it's not by you
But by a Greater Love that's True

ONE MORE TIME

Saw the Rock
Then I tried to roll
I showed them all
On the Road
I played the Fool
I courted romance
My grand design
Love lost to circumstance
Could you tell him or should I?
Tell me why
One more time
So here's the plan
I will decide to
Work like crazy
Someone please, I'm terrified
Deep inside
One more time
Cannot run
Cannot hide
Can’t save myself
Though I've tried
How I've tried
So, I give in
My flag is White
I'm out of control
In your hands I will reside
One more time
Hear my cry
In this darkness
Open my eyes
Help me follow
Be my Light
Show me The Way
Unchain my pride
Set me free
From this strife
Be my guide
One more time
Teach me to fly
One more time

HOLY

Holy, holy, holy is our God
He is merciful
He’s Almighty
Father most holy is our God
The Blessing of the Lord runs eternally
Through Water and the Word
Born to death, we are restored
A Child of God reborn
Holy, holy, holy is our God
The covenant of Thine is everlasting
The Word in Bread and Wine
Keeps the Promise of the Vine:
Death conquered by The Christ!
Holy, holy, holy is our God
He is merciful
He’s Almighty
Father most holy is our God

Come On

OUT INTO THE WORLD

Voices tired and bodies ache as the winding road helps to keep you awake. A circle of prayer late at night in a place that we’ve never been. Wrestling with the price as we feel the sacrifice of taking the message of a righteous and loving God out into the world. The world can be a mysterious place with a story behind every new face that you’re meeting on the road--the exciting adventure unfolds. Flavored with the joy, spicy with the thrill of taking the message of a righteous and loving God out into the world. Now it’s time to begin the show, now’s the time the adrenalin flows. Under the lights of a familiar scene, a sea of faces waiting anxiously listening to the sound (exploding all around) of taking the message of a righteous and loving God, out into the world. Lying in bed so many thoughts in your head, remembering faces and the words that were said. The energy fades and you're reflecting on the satisfaction of a day’s work done. It’s really not the show that makes the Spirit grow, it’s taking the message of a righteous and loving God out into the world.

THE ROUND

Round and round and round and round again. Round and round and round and round my friend. Round and round and round again. Faces round. They smile and frown to the enticing sound that will always surround the round. And time goes round. The news resounds that solid ground just can’t be found in the comfort of the round. We hang around in pairs or crowds, or alone somehow, trying to confound the pounding of the round. Blood flowed down from the crown. The stone rolled round and Grace was found, and saved us from the round.

BREAD OF LIFE

He is the Bread of Life, He is the Holy One. He is the One to keep us healthy fed and strong. Chuckie was so hungry at the table in his seat, eating at the Johnson’s house trying to be discreet. But the Johnson’s dinner prayer was so long it wouldn’t end, and Chuckie just knew he’d starve to death before they said "Amen". He needs the Bread of Life, he needs the Holy One. He needs the One to keep him healthy, fed and strong. They started passing food around right after grace was said, but the food kept on getting passed right over Chuckie’s head. Mrs. Johnson put a plate of food down for the dog and cat, but Chuckie beat ‘em to the plate by ten seconds flat. Everyone at the table gasped in horror at the sight of Chuckie’s lack of self control and voracious appetite. To Chuckie’s great dismay, he only got two bites down before Mrs. Johnson yanked him from the floor and sent him home hungry. Now Chuckie started walking home feeling weak and rather blue. Tripping through the darkness he’d already lost one shoe. His stomach growling fiercely, still needing to be fed. He’s hungry for his daily portion of the Living Bread. He is the Bread of Life, He is the Holy One. He is the One to keep us healthy, fed and strong.

COME BACK

Every afternoon you turn the T.V. on. A convenient place to turn when you’re having lots of problems. Dimestore advice has got you thinkin’ twice. Watching talk shows, gawk shows, you’re lookin’ for answers. Come back to Him. He’s where He’s always been. The host doesn’t miss a thing, askin’ all the right questions. Good guy, bad guy, which is which? Aw, they keep you guessin’. Glued to the set the doctor’s coming on next. In a quick fix, bag-of-tricks they’re grabbin’ for answers. Come back to Him. He’s where He’s always been. The outcome is a topic dressed with lots of opinion. Creating the illusion of an obvious solution. Don’t you know it’s all part of the show? The truth will flow from the Living Word and you will come back to Him. He’s where He’s always been. You know where to find Him.

HAVE YOU SEEN?

Have you seen the eyes of troubled times? Have you seen the times unfold? Have you seen the time of troubled eyes? Have you seen the eyes of cold? Have you seen the eyes where hunger lies? Have you seen the thirst and cold? Have you seen the signs of tear-stained eyes? Have you seen the eyes we’ve sold? Have you seen the eyes where darkness lies? Have you seen the Light controlled? Have you seen the triumph of the lie? Have you seen the truth retold? Aye, I’ve seen the eyes of troubled times. Aye, I’ve seen the thirst and cold. Aye, I’ve seen the triumph of the lie, and I’ve seen them all tenfold. Yet, I see the eyes where hope still lies. Aye, I see the eyes console. Aye, I see the eyes where Light still shines, the Light of young and old.

On The Road

One Way

Ready for a change. Gotta turn the page. You thought you'd found The Way, The One that'd set you free. You trust in what you see. Emotions made their plea. Dead end guarantee. Other roads appear. Road signs unclear. Tempting you to stray. Caught up in the show. Cannot just say no. Polluted blood flows. Curtain call's tomorrow. I turned to the right, found myself playing the game. Swerved back to the left, and there was more of the same. Looking at The Road sign it read: "One Way". One Way to the Father. One Way through the Son. One Way by the Holy Spirit. The Three in One. One Way. The Road is still unclear. He whispers in your ear, "I will take your hand". "Let your eyes look straight ahead". Your hunger will be fed. The blood's already shed. Your search has finally ended. Now I know there's only One Way.

HOLY THREADS

It's a fashion conscious lifestyle, dressing sharp and looking rad, but you never stop to question who's behind the latest fad. Your wardrobe doesn't matter, you think that no one will care. The fact is, God will judge us by the clothing our hearts wear. Fancy threads, dressed for success, but your spiritual wardrobe is a mess. Who do you think you're going to impress? When you're clothing your heart, better stick with the best. The first time that you try them on they seldom do fit right. That shield of faith is cool but man, that belt of truth is way too tight! The breastplate of His righteousness is supposed to go on where? That helmet of Salvation always messes up my hair. His clothes should be grown into, they won't fit you right away. Don't hang them in the closet, you should wear them every day. God does alterations, He will change you through His love. And soon the clothes which were too big will fit you like a glove.

PSALMODY

Life, love, peace, and hope. That's what you gave to me. Life, love, peace, and hope, Your Spirit sets me free. Buried with the Son of God, baptized into His death. Risen through the Spirit, freed from sins of the flesh. God restored His Holy Son and saved Him from decay. Through Him lies ever-lasting life. We're rescued from the grave. How could I not love my Lord, the one who first loved me? His love is perfect, gracious, just and lasts eternally. Rivers cannot quench it, it cannot be washed away. His promise won't be broken, my trust He won't betray. "Let the peace of Christ rule within your heart". We obey this command knowing You will set us apart. Lord, You will give us strength, You will bless us with Your peace. I'm justified through faith, I praise Jesus my release! My soul has found a place to rest. My hope has come from You. My heart soars like an eagle. I find my strength renewed. You vowed that when I hope in You I won't be put to shame. Your name provides the hope, all my days I will proclaim: Life is what You gave when You died on the cross. You gave it to all men, You rescued the lost.

DE ISLAND

Seeking, sailing, drifting through the days. Chart a new course. Find the One and find The Way. Tell you a story 'bout paradise. Attitude peaceful, people so nice. Trees of palm rise greeting the day, voice of the wind casting trouble away. There was a sailor, he'd been searching for the peace that was waiting on that distant shore. Jumped in his boat and he rowed 'round the clock, but he never untied his boat from the dock. There was a millionaire and his wife, set sail in search of a more peaceful life. Took all their jewels, thought they'd brought peace of mind. The weight sunk the boat: seaweed all they find. Professor set sail in search of the truth. Heard of the island but he wanted the proof. The waves rose around him, tall as they could get. They capsized his boat, the professor's all wet. Some found a Skipper who could lead the way, so they boarded His ship and set sail that day. The weather got rough, the boat it got tossed. But the Skipper was skillful and not one was lost. Maybe you've seen all these folks in the past on T.V., or maybe in your looking glass. You never need be a castaway. Trust Jesus, The Skipper, He'll show you The Way!

CHRIST IS BORN

An angel came forth, the time had come. Gabriel came to Mary and told her that, "Soon you'll give birth to a son. His name will be Jesus, Son of the Most High". Messiah, The Holy One. Shepherds stood watch in the fields by night. God sent an angel, bearing a message. At first, they were filled with fright. He said "Don't be afraid, I bring good tidings. A Savior is born this night." There, at the manger, they knelt in His glory, and spread forth the word of what they'd been told. Sing praise to the Lord on High, sing Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus Christ, Lord of Lords, Alleluia! Jesus Christ, Our Savior is born! Christ the Lord, the Savior is born! Jesus Christ, my Savior is born!

The Rock

Let me tell ya 'bout a real bad dude. He's gotta infectious, deceptive attitude. He will whisper with his dragon breath promises guaranteed to bring you death. Satan, he doesn't want a fight, so he introduces himself as the Angel of Light. You stumble as he says, "Baby, you're lookin' fine!". Baby don't listen to another line. Now you know his game and you've heard all the rules. But you simply cannot resist the paradise of fools.. The climate's rich, you just want a taste. How could this be a God-forsaken place? So you say, "Okay, as long as there's no pain". And the next thing you know your wrists are bound in chains. You're dropped into a cell that's hot and dry. You're burning up until you finally cry..."Give me the Rock!" Now there's another way for you to go and He doesn't ask for any dough. Jesus Christ can pick you up when you fall. Just use Him as your wrecking ball. He's The Way, The Truth, and The Life you see, I'm not talkin' 'bout no insurance company. He's got eternal life for those who believe. Is that not the best policy you've ever seen? He's the Only way. You see, He's the Only One who has the key to unlock you from your cell. The chains will fall as you hear the bell. So buckle up your belt of Truth, and raise up your shield of faith. Put your helmet of salvation on and all you have to say is..."Give me the Rock!"

Never Walk Alone

There's joy overflowing like a river of life inside of me. You put your Spirit in my heart, released my soul and now I'm free. To dance and sing. There's healing in your touch when I take the time to hold your hand. And comfort in your voice; when you speak so gently my spirit knows Your Plan. To live and grow. To tell the people that we know that You are God and you reign. Yesterday, today, You're still the same. And there's a power in Your Word that pierces the heart like a sword. It opens up Your wonder and I realize Your glory, Lord. To bless and to forgive. Jesus, You died so I could live. I lay my life at your throne knowing that I'll never walk alone. To dance and sing. To tell the people You're my King!

FISHERMAN

Fisherman. Fisherman. Jesus calls us to be a fisher of men. Peter, Andrew, James, and John, the fishermen, well, they moved on. Left the only life they knew, to do the job that they were called to do. (He gives my life new porpoise.) Walking down by the sea a man comes up and says, "Follow Me". I drop my sail and I leave my net. He's the best angler I've ever met. (I was floundering 'till he came down the pike.) He uses love as his bait. All of the fish can hardly wait to ingest some of the very best, to fill their souls with righteousness. (He'll be with me trout my life.) We won't have to throw them back. All are keepers and that's a fact! Fishin' is something we must do. Someone took time to catch us too! (I'm not following Him for the halibut. Hey, that's a pretty catchy tuna.)

EVERY DAY

Darkness falls around me. A hardened shell seems is all I have come to be. On bended knee, my prayers become selfish pleas. Instead of thanks, all I mumble is "What can you do for me?". I crawl along, blindly groping for stability. Prudence falls to my acute sense of urgency to support myself. I embrace all You warned me would enthrall. A defiant walk, I proudly look back at you, and then I fall. Reflecting now, on the choices that have shaped my fate. Why You still love me I will always contemplate. I try to walk, every failure impedes my gait. I know my pain will bring hope, if I can only wait. Like a child, when I'm in pain I call Your name. From crawl to run, I fall down and You pick me up. Holding me with arms of love, I look up and say, "Father, teach me to follow you, I pray ...every day."

Forgive Me

Forgive me, Lord, I ask of you.

ME?

You made a vow that when God calls you'd take your place and you'd stand tall. Then God finally called your name, but your reaction's not the same. You'd love to help out with His plan, it's just that you're not sure you can. Your mouth drops open, it won't shut. You shout "You want me to do what?" Who? What? Where? Why? We stammer, stutter, swallow, sigh. Afraid to do the things You say to do. Nervous, fearful, worried, scared. What lies ahead? What waits out there? Doubting ourselves, never trusting You. We all have lists of reasons why the Lord should find some other guy. Like: "I've been sick, I had the flu, my library books are overdue". Sure I said I'd heed God's call, and that no job could be too small. But what He's asking is too tough and some jobs just aren't small enough. Well your reaction's nothing new. Many felt the same as you. Moses wondered what he'd say. Jonah tried to run away. They cried "You want me to do what? These folks will think that I've gone nuts!". But their protests were no use, God wouldn't hear their lame excuse. There's no need for you to ask if you are equal to the task. God's spirit never lets you fall. You will be strengthened like a wall. His love will burn within your bones and you will never walk alone. And when His call does come your way, then you will never have to say....

Keep Me on the Road

I was a lone traveller, journeying through this life, looking for a home. But there were so many roads to choose from. I didn't know which way to go. I stood there looking up at the road signs. Voices all around me, lending me their tempting advice. But Your voice seemed to cut through the confusion. It cried, "Follow me child and I will lead you to a City of Gold". Oh, how I learned that the walk is not easy. Seems I stumble and fall and have to cry out Your name everyday. But, then You reach down Your hand and You touch me with a strengthening power; Your love like a torch lights my way. Keep me on The Road now. It may be narrow at times but it will always be straight. You'll never leave me nor forsake me. So with Your promises I will follow You wherever You go. Now on The Road there are tolls to pay, many distractions to cloud your mind. But, if you focus on Jesus Christ a race worth running is what you'll find. Running the race is what we must do, no matter how heavy the load. And with the knowledge that's been given to me, I now Give Others Direction to The Road.

Reach Out

SEEK

Seek out the kingdom and His righteousness. Seek out the spirit and join His Holy Quest. Seek out the power (I'm not talkin' 'bout your bank account) 'cause if you just keep on seeking out the kingdom you'll know what life's all about. Folks'll try to tell you what you should wear. How to walk, how to talk and how to cut your hair. But you don't need to worry about this worldly stuff 'cause in the kingdom you don't have to be rad or look real tough. The people that you meet today are all in hot pursuit looking for the perfect mate or at least someone who's cute. But if they give their love to God in all they say and do they will be rewarded with the love that's really true. Everybody's seeking power, everybody gathers their might. Worried about fame and glory, doesn't matter if it's wrong or right. God's got the power to warm you, your cash will only leave you cold, baby, you can't get in the kingdom by slipping God a bag of gold.

GOD’S TREASURE

Hair at shoulder length, beard of 3 days, button-fly jeans of faded blue. Got a fifth-grade education, Dyslexia too, Lord, how could he be used? Is he in God’s plan too? Just a loner, never seems to care. Heart set on fillin’ cars, no future there. Comes across as being rude with a rough and tough attitude. Lord, how could he be used? Is he in God’s plan too? A victim of the broken home, as a child he was left alone, had to fight for his right to be loved. Now he’s hurt and he’s confused with a heart that’s been abused. Lord, how could he be used? Is he in God’s plan too? Regardless of what they say his humor can take pain away and brighten up your dark and dreary day. So don’t look at the outer parts but look inside your brother’s heart and listen to what God’s Treasure has to say. So even if you are confused, God says we all are used.

FEED THE CHILDREN

Children cry when they are young, I know it’s true. Now that I’m older sometimes I feel like crying too. I wish that the world’s madness would just go away, but I don’t think it will happen until the Judgment Day. Why can’t people open their hearts to those in need? They just close up and pretend that they don’t see. Hungry children cannot play, they sit and stare. Who will feed them, who will help, who will care? I think of all the gifts that I have received. How could I accept these things without a need? What justifies my right to live in this way, when someone’s child won’t get to live another day? You may ask "Why does God let all the children die?". But remember, it’s you and I who decide. Sometimes it’s so hard to know what you can do. I hope that you know to do for Him, instead of you.

LEARN TO LEAN

All the stress in you life, can't you see that it's not right? God says don't be anxious about anything but through prayer and petitioning. Give up you prayers to Jesus, knowing that He sees and hears us and the peace of God will guard you hearts and minds. Learn to lean on Jesus Christ. Live your life dead to sin and alive to God again. When the struggle is too much to take don't let you heart break. Just remember it was Christ who died to pay your price so give your heart to Him, put you life in His hands. Learn to lean on Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, Lord of my life, every decision I make, wrong or right. I will walk by faith 'cause I'm saved by His grace, living forever in His love. Living as a child of light don't let anger control your heart. Before the sun goes down reconcile with one another and make a new start. Try at best to live at peace with your brothers and your sisters and when you can't decide who's wrong or right, learn to lean on Jesus Christ.

PICK ME UP BLUES

Overslept this morning, drove my car into a tree. Got my S.A.T. scores back, got a negative 23. They audited my income tax, I owe the I.R.S. 6 grand. This day is just too much to take, I really need a hand. Got stood up this weekend, my date didn't show. I was all dressed up, I had nowhere to go. Missed my favorite T.V. show for a presidential address. I don't need him to tell me that the world is in a mess. Pick me up Lord, take my hand. Help me up so I can stand. Lift me up beside your throne 'cause I can't make it on my own. I try to walk with Jesus but that order's just so tall. I got a long way left to climb and a longer way left to fall. The failures just keep building up until they knock me down. I need someone to dig me out and help me get to higher ground. When the pain is suffocating, when the bills are overdue, when the days are just too much to face that's when Jesus helps us through.

GATE OF THE GARDEN

I love you. You'll always have a servant in me. I've chosen the path of Christianity. But when temptation comes on strong mortality becomes so real. Clouded sense of right and wrong, I try to reach you but I feel so far from the gate of the garden, where at one time I had made my home. So aware of the reasons I had to leave and I'm so alone. I love you. Only you can ease away my sorrows with hope of seeing life your way. Sometimes I become someone, a stranger to all I believe, so different from the image of you that you created me to be. So far from the gate of the garden like I'll never make it home. I remember Jesus died to make me free and I'm not alone.

OUR SAVIOUR’S GRACE

Thanks for your body and for your blood. Thanks for your grace that comes from above. Thanks for the table and for the feast to come. Thanks for your countenance, with you we’ve won. Thanks for the food. Thanks for the food and for the fun. Thanks for the spirit and your only Son. Thanks for the power and for the might. Thanks for the daytime and for the night.

JOSHUA

Joshua, what color is your day today? Looking through the window glass watching all the people pass from your flower-filled hospital room. The blood that you received with this incurable disease was probably given out of love. No harm was meant to come to you. Joshua, golden child of God, I want you to know that Jesus loves you even on your darkest day. He’s here for you now, He’ll be there when you travel on. Innocent, you sit there in confusion. Your friends don’t come around to play, their parents make them stay away, afraid of what they don’t know enough about. I know it seems unfair, this cross you must now bear. Twelve yeas old and only a year to live. You’ll make that year a whole life-time. Joshua, you’re in my prayers. You’re a survivor to me.

WHAT CAN I DO?

Sometimes my heart’s so full of love it wants to burst and spread His news to all those around. And, God, I really wish that I could find the words so I could tell them all what I’ve found. But words could never quite describe His sacrifice or the joy that He can give to you. I want to tell the people they should walk with God, but Lord, I’m asking, "What can I do?" Well, I can live the kind of life He’d want me to, and I can tell the people that His word is true. And I can make good use of all the gifts He gave, and mix them with the joy in my heart, and sing His praise. Now I could go on T.V. and exalt His word, but I can’t raise that kind of cash. And I could give up all my worldly goods and go live in the woods, but I think I’d get some kind of rash. And I could spend some time down at the local mall and shout "John 3:16" at the crowd. But I couldn’t get in front of all those folks, and I don’t think I could shout very loud. Now I’m sure there are some folks who feel the way I do and maybe they are listening now. I bet they want to praise the Lord with all their hearts, but God, they just can’t figure out how. But now we’ve got a simple plan to help them out. We can help them find the love that’s true. If we want to tell the people about what He has done, then this is all that we have to do.

REACH OUT

You're having lots of problems, your future's looking black. And when you turn to folks for help they always turn their backs. So your problems are made deeper 'cause you face them on your own. And your heart grows isolated now that you've been left alone. Though the wounds you have are ugly and scars are rough and long, though you have been hurt deeply it's the pain that makes you strong. For it's love that makes us human, love saved us from our sins. And in our fight against the darkness our love will help us win. So don't be afraid to reach out, 'cause of what you've been put through. Just remember Christ and all the pain He suffered to save you. Now I won't lie and tell you that you won't be hurt again, or that your friends will never be the ones to cause you pain. But you can't refuse to help folks even though they made you cry. And the love you have to give cannot stay bottled up inside.
