"One of the best concerts in
a long time! Over 200 people attended the concert in Gales Ferry, CT on Jan 10th.
What a crowd—man, could they sing! Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church was gracious
enough to host the area-wide concert, and a team of "roadies" from St.
Luke’s and Our Lady set up for the concert in a record 40 minutes! Many thanks to
Sister Muriel and especially Denise Steen and the crew from St. Luke’s for making
that turn from the 5pm mass to "concert-mode" and back again-- as well as
tearing down, setting up down the street at St. Luke’s for am worship the next day,
and loading up the van again after services on Sunday. A special thanks to the group
pictured on the left for actually sleeping on the sanctuary floor to secure my equipment,
due to the church doors remaining open at all times for those in need, day or night. We
jammed a bit after the gig on Saturday, doing our own little concert for each other, while
sharing pizza, Oreos, and juice in the fellowship hall late into the night. A special
thanks to Pete Larson (not pictured) for being my right-hand man & roadie for the
weekend, and to his family for putting me up that night. You rock, bro! I truly cherished
my time with y’all, and hope to do it all again very soon. Godspeed to Denise and her
husband as they move to the DC area this winter!" |
